Getting to JavaCove Beach Hotel is a highlight in itself.

The journey from Jakarta to JavaCove takes in Java's ever changing scenery - from a bustling metropolis to towering volcanoes, terraced rice fields and quaint rural villages.

Our packages include return PRIVATELY CHARTERED transfers from Jakarta or Yogyakarta (Central Java).

The overland trip in comfortable air conditioned transport may not be everyone's style of travel so prior to booking please consider if you are up to a road trip that could take around 9 hours (from Jakarta airport). The untouched, laidback and relatively uncrowded place you will discover at the other end would not remain that way if it was easy to get to!

HOTEL TELECOMMUNICATIONS - International phone, fax & mobile phone coverage are available at the hotel (due to the remoteness of the area these services may not be available at all times). Public Internet access is currently unavailable but should be online by the end of 2008.
HOTEL ELECTRICITY - The village has 220 volts mains power and a '2 round-pronged' adaptor designed for Asian countries is needed (readily available at electronic stores or duty free shops). Electricity can be unreliable so this may occasionally affect some hotel facilities such as air-conditioning.
CHILDREN – Kids love Batukaras and they are very welcome at JavaCove Beach Hotel. Our BayView Room is ideal for families with 2 adults and 2 children. More info on our ACCOMMODATION page.
LANGUAGE - English is not widely spoken in the area. The staff at JavaCove Beach Hotel are used to Western visitors and can understand limited English to assist you with your daily needs.
CLOTHING - Batukaras is a laidback spot and the locals are relaxed about having Western visitors around, however, to respect the Muslim community, it's best to be conscious of how you dress. Bikinis and boardshorts are fine on the beach, but not the most appropriate gear for getting around the village areas!
ALCOHOL - Local regulations prohibit the consumption of alcohol over 5% in public areas (beer's fine), including at SUNDAZE cafe at JavaCove Beach Hotel. Wine and spirits are not available for sale at the hotel or anywhere in the area, however if you decide to bring your own please remember it can only be consumed on your private balcony or in your room.
LOCAL INTERACTION - JavaCove Beach Hotel is located in a small Indonesian village and interaction with the local community has been a part of the Batukaras experience since the introduction of tourism to the area. Many of the friendly locals speak excellent English and we encourage you to arrange local tours, surfboard hire, and local transport directly with them while you are in Batukaras.
